Samantha Hannaford

Podiatrist; BPod

Hi, I’m Samantha

I grew up playing Netball from age 10 and this has been a huge part of my life since. However, when I was playing I experienced a lot of foot, ankle and leg pain, which resulted in surgery when I was 18 years old. This sparked my passion for the lower limb and understanding the complex biomechanics behind it. I always wanted to work within the health-care sector, to help other people find solutions to their pains/concerns and in turn improve their quality of life.

I graduated from a Bachelor of Podiatry at UniSA in 2018. Whilst at uni, I was working at the Athletes Foot where I gained knowledge on footwear and it’s technology. I have since worked in the private sector and developed a keen interest in sports and biomechanics. This led me to gain my Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) accreditation as a Strength and Conditioning coach which was obtained early 2022. I plan on using this knowledge and expertise throughout my consults, to be able to provide an exercise rehabilitation program to help reduce your pain and improve your function.

I am currently assisting with the UniSA Podiatry program, in the biomechanics theory and assessment topics. I also hold a position on the Australian Podiatry Association (APodA) Regional Committee, as well as a member of the APodA, the Sport and Exercise Podiatry Association (SEPA) and the ASCA.

I am passionate about sports and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. You don’t have to be an athlete or a sports person, it can be as simple as getting back to playing golf, or walking your dog around the block. I cannot wait to help you maintain your health and fitness and reach those goals.
